Sandra Palmer  Oh!  This is just for the Temperature Blanket CAL project I'm doing over on my YouTube channel.  You're not missing too much.  Though we will be doing things in the Crochet Club soon so if you are able to check in every now and then you would easily be able to stay up to date just by looking through the community and Calendar.  I'm also going to try to start sending emails of upcoming events.  Check to make sure emails I send are marked as ok or friendly in your inbox and that they don't get sent to spam or promotional where they could be missed. 💖💖💖

I really like using neck lights!  I personally have these 2:

I use stitch markers placed every 20 stitches when I have trouble keeping count of large amounts of stitches.

BUT if you like using stitch counters, you could check out:

These are just suggestions.  If you do decide to get the crochet hook set with light and counter please let us know what you thought.

Hi Dawn!

Thanks for reaching out and asking the group!  Haha, I had to research what this was before I gave a response.  I think this picture is what you're talking about.

I have not tried these before so I cannot give a true testimonial.  However, I do have a set of the crochet hooks that light up (no counter), and they really aren't great quality.  The plastic has some rough spots that catch yarn.  Yes, you could use a sander pad to smooth that out it you would like.  I also found, personally, that the placement of the light was a great idea but not a great execution.  It just wasn't as helpful as I would have liked.

This set is pretty cool.  It has both metal and light up hook options.  It looks like it would work for someone who needs an ergonomic hook.  And if you are someone who likes using a counter than it might be worth a try.  If you get your set off of Amazon you could always return it if it's not what you hoped.

Other things you might want to check out...

Me too Sandra!  But even if you are still taking care of yourself when we get started, this will be recorded in such a way that you can get started whenever works best for you.  This will stay up in the Crochet Club for a long time. 😊💖💖💖

The SIDES of my January Section.

I've had a couple people reach out to me having trouble with the sides of their Temperature Blanket.  I just wanted to give a reference to what I am seeing on mine.

Yes, the January stitch is leaving us with sides that are not straight.  AND that's driving some people crazy.  I'll make a note on that with upcoming stitches and for future projects.  However, it is more experience working with patterns and learning what you do and do not like!  Which is GREAT!  The more you try the more you know!

I've also had some people bring up concerns that their blanket sides are starting to be VERY MUCH not straight.  Without seeing a picture I'm not sure what happened.  All I can share is to please Count Your Stitches every so many rows.  Especially if you are newer and DEFINITELY if you are noticing a problem.  If you are already seeing a problem with your sides, I highly recommend you fix it now while it's still just a slight annoyance to go backward but not a complete tragedy.  Setting up your project on the right foot will not only make sure stitches in the future will work with this project but also mean you won't have trouble with the border when it comes time to finish everything up.

This project, I've chosen stitches that will work together and minimize the sides getting super wonky.  Please help me out by counting your stitches and watching for anything weird that might come up.  I hope you're having fun!! 🤗💖🧶

2025 Temperature - Sampler Blanket update! I've officially finished the month of January. I looked ahead to see what the upcoming temps would be so I could get ready to jump into February! So, I've used all of the lower temp colors in my blanket already. I'm curious if in February I will be able to pull in some of that teal color OR if it will just be more of what I saw in January.... Something to look forward to I guess! This project is crazy with all of the unknowns. I've also chosen to weave in all of my ends. People have been asking about the border for this project and what they should do with their ends.

Here's my plan. In October, November and maybe December I'm going to release blanket border tutorials you can add around any rectangular/square blanket. I'm going to let you pick which one you would like to use. If you would like to choose to leave your ends out and just make fringe around your blanket you can do that too. Just try to decide if you want to do a border or fringe sooner rather than later so if you do choose to weave in your ends it's not a crazy amount! 😄💖🧶
