Great Question DeAnn!  I think you could absolutely use Wool-Ease Fair Isle yarn.  When you go to wash it I would wash on the gentle cycle and then lay flat to dry just in case. 😊

Hi Margie!  I think I responded to another post you made of this same problem.  The sides of the 2023 Temperature Blanket were wonky for most people.  A lesson I learned when making sampler stitch projects.  Not to put large and small stitches next to each other.  If your stitch tension is loose enough the sides do stretch and the border evens everything out.  So, try to focus on making your stitch tension loose and stretchy.  If all else fails, that is why I created the cover up blanket border.  You could also you the envelope border.  To cover the imperfections of the sides.  Either way, keep moving forward, try your best to keep your stitches loose, and you'll be ok. 💖💖🧶🧶

Margie Garza  That all depends on the looseness of your stitches.  Are you able to stretch your rows enough to get the sides to level out?  If you can then we can fix everything in the border process.  If you cannot then the only option you have is to use the Coverup Border or Envelope Border.

Hi Michelle A Koury,  You're ok.  As long as you can pull the sides of your blanket and the edges will stretch for the sides to even out then you are fine.  The border will help with that.  Just please focus on making your stitches loose.  Feel free to go up a crochet hook size to an H/8-5.00mm or even an I/9-5.50mm if you need some help making your stitches looser.

Hi Michelle A Koury,  I'm so glad you are mentioning something now with your temp blanket as we are still not that far along into the project.  Most of the issues I've seen are do to stitch tension.  It is imperative that you pay attention to how tight your stitches are and make adjustments to using a larger crochet hook if you need help.

If you are noticing the biggest problem being between March and April that is because Marches stitch (the linen/seed stitch) naturally works up tight which is why in the video I made such a big deal throughout the video to please focus on making your stitches loose.

If you can pull on the sides of your blanket and the edges align then you are golden!  Keep moving forward and the border will even everything out.  IF you pull on the sides and there is little movement you can do 2 things.  Go backwards 5 rows at least into March and redo them with a much looser tension OR replace the first bobble and the last bobble stitch of April with a regular single crochet st.

Hi Margie Garza,  First I want to tell you how much I love the colors of your blanket AND your stitches looks so beautiful.

Looking at your blanket I'm curious how your stitch count it looking?  Were you able to stay on count or do you have less stitches per row than I show?  That was a big issue for many people who did not count their stitches.

Secondly, if your stitches are loose enough you will be able to pull at the sides and the edges will get close to straight.  Then the border will lock everything in place.

If your stitches don't budge much, that is why I created the "Cover-up Blanket Border".  It is similar to the Envelope Border where it can cover the sides hiding the fact that they are not straight.

Go ahead and keep moving forward, watching your stitch count and your tension.  And then, when your blanket it complete we will go over how to finish it in a way that will make your happy with the end result. 🤗🧶💖
