Great question Sharon!  I won't be creating a brand new blanket border for this temperature blanket project.  I do plan on making a couple different blanket border tutorial options throughout the year that I will reference for people to pick from.  If you would like to keep the ends out on purpose for fringe Go For It!  🤗💖🧶

Diane Vodola Great question Diane, Yes, we ideal want to have 210 stitches in row 1 and row 2. Row 3 however I added a grouping [sc/dc] at the end because it looked a little too uneven for me.  By adding this extra group it will increase the number of stitches per row to 212.  So, from row 3 on up for the month of January you will have 212 stitches per row.  I hope this helps.

The Colors You Pick

The colors you pick for your Temperature Blanket are extremely important!  You want to pick colors that best represent the temperature range they will be used for that connect with how you feel about that temperature.

But you also want to pick colors that are pleasing to your eye.  This will be a blanket you want to display.  Hang over a couch in your living room or even drape over a blanket ladder.  A piece that will be a conversation starter and something people will look closely at to see the different temperature ranges documented.  Make sure the colors used in your blanket are colors that you want to look at, colors that go well with each other, and colors that make you happy. 🤗💖🧶

That is a great question Diane, didn't think of that one.

Hi Marlene!  Thank you so much for reaching out.  I want you to feel comfortable asking any question you come across in this project journey.  Hmm, because row 1 is just a single crochet row there are only a few places a counting error can occur.

First, let's look at what Diane mentioned.  Remember, the loop on our crochet hook does not count as a chain.  Make sure there are a total of 211 chains off of the hook.

Second, let's shrink the number of stitches you make then put a stitch marker in to every 20 stitches.  This way we are catching our count even earlier reducing human error.

And third, when making your first single crochet stitch for row 1, make sure you are only skipping over one chain and crocheting into the second chain.  Ideally, we want an even number of single crochet stitches in row 1.

Give this a try and let us know how it goes. 🤗💖🧶
