MARLENE LEUENBERGERĀ Ā

Great to hear ur on track Marlene. Ā I did my chain and first SC row yesterday and I also had a med shade blue and even though I focused on tension w the chain, I did have some chains while doing my SC row that were very small and if I wasnā€™t paying such close attention to make sure I got it right I would have missed them.Ā

A question for Tiffany though, Ā my first response to you may have been a little off? Ā I did my chain of 211. Then at the end I put a stitch marker at the 211 chain before turning to do my SC row. In counting after my SC row I had 210 BEFORE adding the one w the stitch marker so then itā€™s 211. That one was also kinda hidden down the side so if I hadnā€™t put the marker there I would think I had 210. Now since we started at the second chain from hook, wouldnā€™t that be 210?

Hi Marlene. I think part of the problem is after you make the chain 211, you start the first SC stitch in the SECOND chain from hook, so that will make you stitches 2 LESS, so 209. But you said you are at 208. Could you be mistakenly counting the loop on your hook? Ā

WOW! Ā This first video is hard! Ā I got the sequence, but it looks so distorted when I got thru about 5 or so chains! Ā I canā€™t determine which is top or bottom of the ā€œchainā€. Ā I donā€™t get it.Ā

Iā€™m working on a Bernat blanket yarn w the Moss stitch and it such a pleasure to work with! Ā I want to learn more stitches that are a little different but still beginner or advanced beginner level. I have done a couple swatches of the Alpine stitch but still need a little more practice before I start the Lion Brand blanket kit I bought that uses that stitch. Iā€™m getting better at reading patterns but still like video tutorials. It helps to make things more clear and gives me confidence. I still need more help with first and last stitch locations/placements and ā€œrecognizingā€ stitches better.Ā

Iā€™m gravitating towards throws/blankets and scarves for this year to start with.Ā
