Hi Tori!

What a fun project idea!  Also a big project idea!  To be honest you should be fine with your ends.  There's no real reason your project should come undone the way you fear. HOWEVER, if it would put your mind at ease to use fabric glue, I only recommend Aleene's Quick Dry Fabric Fusion.  It flexible and clear so invisible AND it's non-toxic as well as washing machine and drier safe so you don't have to worry about it washing out.  It's pretty magical.  You can find this Quick Dry Fabric Fusion at JoAnn's, Hobby Lobby and Amazon.  Please let me know if you need help finding it.  I hope this helps!  HAVE FUN!

......... Find a section that has multiple color changes.  This will show you if you want each square to count as 1 st, 2 sts, 4 sts, or however wide you wand the squares to count as for the image.  Do the same with the rows.  Does a square count as 1 row, 2 rows, 4 rows?

It will be vital to figure out this information to keep the image from distorting.

Like I mentioned, converting this pattern is doable.  You will just need to do some work to figure things out before you jump in.

Hi Jennifer!  What a FUN blanket!  What a GREAT graduation gift as well!  Ok, yes, you can convert this pattern from a C2C to a normal, rows, type blanket.  You could also utilize a Half Double Crochet or Double Crochet Stitch to help with length.  The one thing I'm a little hesitant on is that converting this pattern will take finagling and a very good understanding of color changes.  Because you don't know what the blanket dimensions are you will also want to swatch to figure this out.

Before you begin, I would recommend you making a swatch, using only one color, like the green on the bottom corner.  Swatch using all half double crochet stitches And do another swatch using all double crochet stitches.  Measure how many stitches across and how many rows tall.  Measure how tall each individual row measures.

Then think what size blanket you are wanting to make.

Next, make a swatch looking at the grid.  Maybe 10 squares wide x 10 squares tall.
