I had someone ask me why/how does yarn pill? And if there is any way to avoid it?

🧶Yarns can pill when the fibers rub together during use, causing tiny fiber balls or pills to form on the surface.

To avoid it, you can choose yarns with longer fiber lengths↔ , like acrylic blends or bamboo 🎍, as they tend to pill less.

Also, handwashing ✋🏼🛁 your crochet projects gently instead of machine washing can help.

And when storing your items, keep them in a cool, dry place to minimize friction. I hope this helps. 😊❤️🧶
