You can wash it but it is not necessarily meant to work with water.  You can find something to make with this theme.

Oh, I only show yards so you can then take the information and use whatever yarn you want.  All you have to do is take the number of yards needed for the whole blanket and divide it by how many yards are in the skein of yarn you want to use.  That will tell you how many skeins you will need to make that blanket.  😊🧶❤️

Totally get what you're saying.  You are right.  This stitch would be easier with a thicker yarn but I really wanted to show people this stitch.  Even if you have to slow down a bit to make it happen, I hope you think it's pretty.

Great question Mary!  Yes!  You can absolutely use more than one color to add up to at least 500 yards of yarn.  But I encourage you to use a little of each color that you brought into your material options. 😊🧶❤️
