Join Me for the 2025 Temperature-Sampler Blanket Crochet Along!I am beyond excited to announce the launch of my 2025 Temperature-Sampler Blanket Crochet Along (CAL), kicking off in January! This project will be a fun, interactive, and beautiful way to document your year while learning new crochet stitches and creating a one-of-a-kind blanket that tells the story of your year through color and temperature. For this CAL, we'll be making one row every day, documenting the temperature for that day and using a specific yarn color to match the temperature range from our very own Temperature Gauge. I’ve created a Temperature Gauge with a color indicator that will help guide you in choosing the right yarn for each day’s temperature. But that's not all! Each month, I’ll be sharing a Calendar Stitch Card, which includes the month’s calendar along with crochet stitch instructions. Each month, you’ll work the row using the stitch of the month, paired with the appropriate yarn color based on that day's temperature. This will give you a beautiful, textured blanket that grows month by month.I’m really excited to share that we’ll be learning 12 different crochet stitches throughout the year—some you may have tried before, and others will be new to you. Whether you’ve crocheted for years or are a newer crocheter, this project will be a fun and rewarding challenge. Every month’s stitch will add a unique texture to the blanket, making it a truly personalized and stunning piece of art.One of the best parts of this CAL is the new community section in the Crochet Club. This space will be dedicated to the Temperature-Sampler Blanket project, where you can:Ask questions: Whether you're new to the project or need help with a stitch, this section is the perfect place to ask for guidance.Share your progress: I can’t wait to see how your blanket is coming along! Whether it’s a photo of a finished row, an update on your materials, or just a note about how the project is going, sharing your journey will be so fun for everyone.Discuss materials: Not sure what yarn to use? Want to talk about hook sizes or other tools? The community section is the place to chat about it all.I encourage everyone to participate, whether you’re jumping in with your first CAL or are a seasoned pro. This project is all about community, creativity, and making something beautiful together. To get started, all you need to do is make sure you're part of my Crochet Club, where I’ll be sharing the Calendar Stitch Cards and all the information you need to follow along. The community section will be open for sharing, asking questions, and engaging with fellow crocheters throughout the entire project.I can’t wait to kick off this journey with you all and see how your Temperature-Sampler Blankets turn out. It's going to be a year-long adventure, and I’m so thrilled to have you all along for the ride! Here is the tank top I made for my granddaughter, out of the one weight I asked everyone about. Tiffany I hope you don’t mind that I changed the back. I made it a little too big so I just crocheted the sides together and added the buttons. I did use 3 skeins together like you suggested.

I just finished a blanket that I will be donating for Bag O Day Crochet's auction to raise funds for a local animal rescue.  I used Caron Simply Soft yarn (color ways used: Feathered Grey and Dark country blue). Has anyone washed and / or dried this yarn in washing machine and dryer and how did it turn out?  Thanks.  I'm thinking of washing it in cold water on delicate and drying it on delicate with low heat in the dryer.  I don't usually lay big blankets out flat to dry because of how much space they take up and I don't want to hang them.  It's Geometric Interlocking crochet, it's a free pattern from Yarnspirations and the crochet crowd has a video tutorial for it. I used a I9/5.5mm crochet hook. I made the blanket bigger than the pattern, I used 3.25 skeins of each color (3 full skeins and a bit of a 4th skein of each color).

Hi everyone, I just added some links in the reply to Joanne's post for a few pattern ideas I have found for the block stitch or modern granny.  I think it's a nice stitch and works up rather quickly.  As I was making that post I thought maybe some folks might be interested in a short slide show video I made last weekend that has pictures of some of the blankets I've made over the years.

Many of them I've gifted away to friends and family.  https://youtu.be/cIsIcPgkLEo?si=D4K9yaBE9zCYT1ao
