Ok guys, I finally did it!  I finished my first full sized blanket.  Some may remember that I was looking to make a blanket for my nephew to take to college in the Fall. School colors are scarlet and brown. I used "my first blanket" pattern with Premier Puzzle in "checkers. "  I did the puff stitch border in brown and cream. The sides are a but wavy....considering trying to block them.  I think it came out well enough to give as a gift,  what do you all think?

Tiffany Hansen  just wanted to shout out to you and let you know what a gifted teacher🍎 you are.  I have been on many YouTube channels and some of those people come across as condescending, some seem to be shouting at me, some have poor video or audio.  I am here because I love how you explain things.  You have a gift, and I am grateful that you share it with us.  I just found your stitch series/library, and WOW!  This is just what I was looking for - a way to gradually up-my-game!  Now we just need some projects with those stitches.  💟

I saw that coming when I saw the tutorial.  I figured if Tiffany's was pulling in, mine would too.  I went up a hook size and it looks pretty good.

Just sharing a picture of what I have so far. I have to admit I am not sorry to be finished with the stitch from February.  Nice to have used a new color already in March.

Thanks Diane.  This is definitely one I am considering.

My thought was a long twin for his bed. Thanks for answering so quickly!   School colors are a challenge: brown and scarlet with black and or white accents.  (If that matters.)

Tiffany Hansen and all - I think I'd like to make a blanket for my nephew who will start college this fall.  My aunt made me one when I went to college (it was a stash buster and very colorful - and I still have it).  I was thinking I would like to do something his his school colors.  Can anyone recommend a pattern, or stitch?  Or perhaps Tiffany would like to design a stadium blanket to go with her alumni beanie???

Tiffany Hansen FYI - also bought a regular set of crochet hooks from that same company, and I have the same issue with them being rough and catching yarn.  Much more difficult to smooth given that they are metal, and even then they still do not slide through the yarn the way I think they should.  I would steer away from this brand altogether based on my current experience.  Still looking to find my "favorite/perfect" crochet hook(s).

I also have that same neck light.  Sometimes I find it difficult to get it to aim far enough down to my work without getting blocked by my shirt.  I also find that after awhile my neck gets irritated from wearing for a long time.  Given that, I also wonder if the lit crochet hooks would feel heavy in the hand.  (My family hates the neck light - it is very bright and they say it is like staring at headlights.)

Very Pretty - Most important is that you like them, tho!
