I'm such a beginner but so eager to learn.

Mine looks very similar, and I think that color changing with the slip stitch doesn't help because it makes the edges kind of lumpy and make it look less straight than it would otherwise.  I will post a pick shortly as I just started May.

Tiffany Hansen Thanks for the response.  I have been all over the community chat headers and do not see posts regarding the yarns everyone has chosen.  What am I doing wrong?  I see the post on how to get started, but nothing with specifics about what yarn people are using.

I have the same problem, to a slightly lesser degree.  I am learning a lot, though and for me that's kind of the point.

Very cute!

I am also working on this (currently on square 11).  I am finding that my squares are coming out consistently smaller than the target 13, and I have redone a couple of them to make them more consistent.  Please post yours when finished, and I will share mine also.

I am a little intimidated to even try this, but that beautiful yarn is inspiring.  What is it, and what is everyone else using?  If I get inspired enough, I might actually try it.

Thanks so much!  Means a lot.

Ok guys, I finally did it!  I finished my first full sized blanket.  Some may remember that I was looking to make a blanket for my nephew to take to college in the Fall. School colors are scarlet and brown. I used "my first blanket" pattern with Premier Puzzle in "checkers. "  I did the puff stitch border in brown and cream. The sides are a but wavy....considering trying to block them.  I think it came out well enough to give as a gift,  what do you all think?

Tiffany Hansen  just wanted to shout out to you and let you know what a gifted teacher🍎 you are.  I have been on many YouTube channels and some of those people come across as condescending, some seem to be shouting at me, some have poor video or audio.  I am here because I love how you explain things.  You have a gift, and I am grateful that you share it with us.  I just found your stitch series/library, and WOW!  This is just what I was looking for - a way to gradually up-my-game!  Now we just need some projects with those stitches.  💟

I saw that coming when I saw the tutorial.  I figured if Tiffany's was pulling in, mine would too.  I went up a hook size and it looks pretty good.
