Beanie

Hi everyone! I’m looking for some suggestions—I want to make a plain beanie (no Pom Pom) for my soon-to-be 2-year old grandson (who lives in Ohio which gets pretty cold). Can anyone recommend a good pattern & choice of yarn brand to use? Thanks!

Robyn Klopfleisch I get 192 on the SC row but when I do the bean stitch row, one side keeps going outward (& eleven) & other side ends with an extra stitch?? I’m so frustrated!!!
