Just to make sure I’m counting (191) correctly, which stitch is considered #1 of the count? Thanks for any input you can give me!

Thanks for all your help (as usual!) Tiffany! A question I forgot to ask is do the chain 2 stitches at the beginning of even rows part of the 191 total stitches (I do like to put a stitch marker at the beginning of every row to make sure my count is correct). I think I may try your idea of going up to a K size hook too ( instead of J). Since I haven’t even looked at May’s stitch yet, should I go back to using I hook after I finish with April?

I made Fred (the dinosaur) & currently making Tank (the Shark) for my 22-month old grandson. I think they’re so cute but I just can’t get to the point where they are fun for me to make😭. Sadly (for me), I wish their videos were more descriptive (like Tiffany’s), but I feel they are hard to make. I’m going to finish making 2 more (because I bought them in a bundle) but then I’m done trying. Just not my cup of tea!😢
