Catching up on January while getting a pedicure. Dedication
Hello everyone!
I’m new to this community and to the life of crochet. (Literally a 2 weeks new baby here!) I’ve made a headband for my daughter and a few square stitches. I ordered a beginner kit off of Amazon and just started watching videos on YouTube, which is how I came to be here. My question is where do I start? I have a kit that has a few skeins of yarn, only measuring 56 yards each. So not much room to play with in the long haul. I like to be organized so can someone please tell me their must haves to keep the inspiration flowing and anxiety/OCD at bay I’d much appreciate any and all tips. No one I know crochets so no help there. Thanks a bunch!
Here are pictures of all the entries into the Spring Crochet Contest.
The pictures that look more refined and like magazine covers are just better representations of what was shared in the actual meeting.
Everyone did such an amazing job!!
I was seriously blown away at how much you all pushed yourselves, worked outside of your comfort zones. Some of these projects looking quite complex.
Those of you who went a step further and designed your own patterns or made your own alterations deserve a round of applause.
This is why I enjoy these crochet competitions so much! I can't wait for the next one. To Be Announced at our next Wednesday Crafter's Gathering.
It always surprises me how many options there are when it comes to Granny Square projects. Picking which square you want to make, the colors you want to use. Then how you want to join the squares together and lastly what border you choose to use. Honestly, one project can be done many many different ways. It's very inspiring.
Recently I have come across 3 different joining methods that I am obsessed with. They are by far my favorite to use produce very different results. Look out for my next Blog post where I will go more in depth with each joining method. Also, look out for my next tutorial where I will be demonstrating all 3 joining methods.
What is YOUR favorite joining method to use when joining Granny Squares? Maybe you have never joined before. Which join method sounds most interesting? Do you not enjoy joining squares? I would love to know!
Here are some pictures of my current works in progress 🥰 the bucket is cotton for soap savers. I have a lot going on 😳😝🥰 it will only let me upload 10 pics 🤣 hahaha I love crochet. Can you tell?!
This is the first 2 months of my blanket. I am using historical Temps from the year my son was born and doing 1/2 row per day.
Hi Friends! I was wanting to make Tiffany's pattern Summer Beach Tote Bag. The yarn used was Lily Sugar & Cream. Is Crafter's Secret Cotton Yarn from Hobby Lobby comparable to this? Do you think I could use this in place of Lilly Sugar & Cream? Or can I just use any 100% cotton yarn? I haven't used this brand before. Thank you for any help! Have a great day!
At Wednesday's Crafter's Gathering Live it was brought up that someone wanted to learn more about yarn. I would love to do a Yarn Unit here for you all in the Crochet Club. Are there any specific questions you would like me to make sure I hit on?
Just because I'm super curious, what was the moment you knew you were hooked on crochet?
Hi, Tiffany (and anyone else)… I’m getting concerned about my February stitch. I remember hearing on a recording that everyone’s was veering to one side, but if they are both going outward then something is wrong. Mine seems to be doing that. I’m six rows in, eight more to go. I have 192 stitches across, and 95 bead stitches across. Should I keep going? Do I need to change something?
Also I tried to show it some in the more full blanket pictures, but the February stitch is so much bigger then the January that it’s kind of fanning out where if I make it all straight, it ends up waving because it’s so much wider. Not sure if that makes sense?
Desperately trying to catch up to March so any help would be amazing. Thanks!
