Join Me for the 2025 Temperature-Sampler Blanket Crochet Along!I am beyond excited to announce the launch of my 2025 Temperature-Sampler Blanket Crochet Along (CAL), kicking off in January! This project will be a fun, interactive, and beautiful way to document your year while learning new crochet stitches and creating a one-of-a-kind blanket that tells the story of your year through color and temperature. For this CAL, we'll be making one row every day, documenting the temperature for that day and using a specific yarn color to match the temperature range from our very own Temperature Gauge. I’ve created a Temperature Gauge with a color indicator that will help guide you in choosing the right yarn for each day’s temperature. But that's not all! Each month, I’ll be sharing a Calendar Stitch Card, which includes the month’s calendar along with crochet stitch instructions. Each month, you’ll work the row using the stitch of the month, paired with the appropriate yarn color based on that day's temperature. This will give you a beautiful, textured blanket that grows month by month.I’m really excited to share that we’ll be learning 12 different crochet stitches throughout the year—some you may have tried before, and others will be new to you. Whether you’ve crocheted for years or are a newer crocheter, this project will be a fun and rewarding challenge. Every month’s stitch will add a unique texture to the blanket, making it a truly personalized and stunning piece of art.One of the best parts of this CAL is the new community section in the Crochet Club. This space will be dedicated to the Temperature-Sampler Blanket project, where you can:Ask questions: Whether you're new to the project or need help with a stitch, this section is the perfect place to ask for guidance.Share your progress: I can’t wait to see how your blanket is coming along! Whether it’s a photo of a finished row, an update on your materials, or just a note about how the project is going, sharing your journey will be so fun for everyone.Discuss materials: Not sure what yarn to use? Want to talk about hook sizes or other tools? The community section is the place to chat about it all.I encourage everyone to participate, whether you’re jumping in with your first CAL or are a seasoned pro. This project is all about community, creativity, and making something beautiful together. To get started, all you need to do is make sure you're part of my Crochet Club, where I’ll be sharing the Calendar Stitch Cards and all the information you need to follow along. The community section will be open for sharing, asking questions, and engaging with fellow crocheters throughout the entire project.I can’t wait to kick off this journey with you all and see how your Temperature-Sampler Blankets turn out. It's going to be a year-long adventure, and I’m so thrilled to have you all along for the ride! I have finished this granny square (yay me!) haha. Am I doing something wrong? The slip stitch at the end of the row is visible. Is there something I’m doing wrong or how can I hide this better?

What do you do to make yourself feel better when you need to smile (besides shop for yarn)? I go on line and shop for original & unique types of cactus & succulents. This is a perfect hobby for someone in Jersey.

Hello fellow crafters, I wanted to share some deals I got from Michaels because you can get them online and shipped to you if they don't have them in the store (which mine usually doesn't).

They have some Caron Cinnamon Swirl 8 oz (407 yd) cakes regularly $12.99 clearanced for $5.00. They had 3 colors I believe.

Next they have Caron Blossom Cakes (8 oz/481 yds) regularly $12.00 clearanced for $5.00. Again there are 2 or 3 colors I think.

I love the Lion Brand Basic Stitch Skein Tones yarn and found a specific pattern (Mocha Ripple Afghan) that uses each of the colors. My store actually had all 9 colors which are 3.5 oz/185 yd and are regularly $5.99 clearanced for $3.00. While not as good a deal as the Caron cakes, I'll be able to make a small blanket for $27.00.

The last deal, which I will have to get online, is the Loops & Thread Cozy Boucle yarn. This is a size 6 yarn (5.29 oz/166 yd) Clearanced at $3.00 a skein. and since it's Super Bulky, I think I can make a baby blanket for about $15.00. This is 100% polyester which is usually able to be thrown in the washer and then a low heat dryer but the care instructions on these say hand wash and not to iron. Anyway...

Tiffany,

I’m working on the May 9th row, which is the second Row 1 in May. I have been counting 192 stitches total so far, but somehow this row came out with 191 stitches. The FPDC and BPDC seem to be matching up though. Do I need to pull everything out and try to figure out where things got off and how to fix it? Is it okay to just go with 191 stitches for the rest of the month? I think this row feels different since the first row one wasn’t on top of a FPDC/BPDC row, but not entirely sure.

Thanks!

Sent in my donation for the Soap Sack Campaign and received an extremely lovely hand written thank you note. Here is a picture of the 8 sacks I sent in.

The term "pooling" is used when the colors of a semi-solid, speckled or variegated yarn all come together in the same place in a knitted fabric. It is easier to illustrate this concept in a picture with a variegated yarn : Here is a perfect example of "pooling".
