I do understand a lot about yarn, and have total confidence with it for knitting, but crocheting is newer to me and while I feel like I picked it up pretty quickly, it’s very different from how yarn is when knitting. You’re teaching me about wraps per inch really helped me realizing that not all yarns are the same, even if they have the same number weight!  I can also say that I’ve learned a lot by trying different things and experimenting and seeing what works and what doesn’t. I know some people are afraid to do that, but it’s just yarn. If it doesn’t work, frog it and wind it back up!! 😊

I’ve only joined squares together by either sewing them or crocheting them together with a single crochet stitch. I’ve seen tutorials where they slip stitch a part of the square and then it’s a very lacey looking stitch. I’m excited to learn how you joined the squares together as it’s a beautiful pattern.

I have a vague recollection of my step grandmother teaching me how to chain and single crochet as a child, but I only saw her a couple times a year so it didn't stick.  Then, when I was pregnant with my first son, one of the aides at the school where I was Teaching, taught me the basics again.  I made a couple of scarves, but that was it.  In my 30's, I saw my Aunt knitting and asked her to teach me.  She did and I was immediately enthralled with it, but was also intrigued by the beautiful lace borders I saw on crocheted items.  When I started teaching knitting at my local Michael's, I took the crochet class but didn't use crochet for much other than to make borders on my knits, and I'd use it for collars and to lengthen a sweater.  During the Pandemic, I had watched a few crochet videos and was intrigued.  I pulled out my old books that I had and watched a few videos and taught myself more.  Then I found a few channels like yours, and really got hooked!!!

This is so exciting!  Thank you so much for doing this! ❤️🧶

I'd love to see more tops for Spring or Summer.  The kind you can wear over a tank top. 😊 🧶

I know there are already a few videos on it, but I love the crochet in the series Wednesday on Netflix, and in the series Stranger Things has lots of crochet blankets around the houses.  There’s also blankets on Young Sheldon.
