Hi Margie!

Oh gosh I am so sorry you are experiencing this frustration.  It's weird how it's only showing up in this one row....  It sounds like you have an idea of what to do for this stitch... It could even be the number of Sc stitches you have in the row below...

Maybe try backing up and undoing the Bead Stitch row in the row below.  Doing that row over, then working forward and seeing if it works itself out.  I do that sometimes.

Give that a try and let me know if you are still having trouble with the count. 😊

I like that Mary.  I'll keep the Hdc BLO stitch in mind just in case I'm considering swapping out a stitch. 🧡

Hi Elena!  OH!  The bead stitches are suppose to look diagonal or slanted.  That's on purpose.  You're good!  Especially if you said your sides are straight.

Keep up the great work!  I hope you're having fun with this blanket project.  😊🧡🧶

Oh Sandra,  I know you are completely capable of crocheting a cardigan.  You just need to be shown the way on how to assemble all of the pieces together.  One day soon I hope to be able to help you making this a reality project for you and have you wearing your own crochet cardigan around.  😊🧡🧶

Hi Elena,

Oh gosh I'm sure that is very frustrating.  Obviously there are stitches being missed somewhere in the row.

Honestly, the only thing I can think of to fix this would be to count the number of stitches you have in each row to make sure you are staying on count.  At least it's not a lot of rows.

There are helpful cheats people do to help keep count.

One is to place stitch markers every so many stitches.  Your choice.

Every 10 stitches, 20, 50....  And then at the end know that one side will have = 2 more since we should have 192 stitches in each row.

Some people will place stitch markers in the first and last stitch space to help.

Remembering that each row of the crunch stitch should end with a slip stitch might help.

Because this blanket doubles as a sampler blanket we will want to make sure we stay on track.  Having a multiple of 4 stitch spaces in every row.

I hope this helps Elena!  Thank you so much for making this blanket with me!  YOU GOT THIS!

Hi Racene!  Actually, I think you are right on target!  I'm so sorry you're not having the best start to this project.  But I think I'm about to make you feel a whole lot better.

Yes, we want to chain 193 chains.

For row 1 we will work our first stitch in the 3rd chain from our crochet hook.  Those skipped 2 chains count as our first stitch.

Then you will go about working the pattern.

So, technically you will only be making 191 stitches.  BUT if you count that skipped 2 chains as a stitch then you have 192 stitches in your row which is EXACTLY what you want.

I hope this helps and gives you the confidence to keep moving forward.

You Got This!

And if it would help, I hope you can try to make one of our Live Groups.  🤗🧡🧶

Thank you so much for being a member.  I hope you get a lot out of being here.

Hi Elena!  Thank you for reaching out on this.  There are actually 2 things you could try to fix this dropped stitch issue.  One thing you could do is exactly what Gail mentioned.  Placing a stitch marker every so many stitches so you can stay on track.  The second thing you could do is count the number of stitches you have in each row for the first 4 rows.  That will really give you a clear picture of what to expect for each row.  Starting and ending it.  Remember that each row you should end with a Slip Stitch for the Crunch Stitch!  If you don't you are dropping a stitch.

I hope that helps Elena!  If you still need a little more help I hope you can attend our next Crochet Along Live meeting so I can work through this with you in person.  😊🧶🧡
