I just finished this shawl using Joanns Big twist party yarn colorway Succulent and a 6mm hook. Pattern is the Agatha Christie reading shawl from Ophelia Talks video tutorial: https://youtu.be/5rOmv4r4f24?si=dB-e0FLC7hvNiYCs
In April, I made a Spring Bed Doll, which I shared with you all, and decided to make one for my Mom who resides in a long-term care facility. She loves anything with sunflowers and was called Little Miss Sunshine as a kid. This is my Little Miss Sunshine which I'll be giving to Mom when I see her this week in Omaha.
I need some help with this pattern, I have enlarged the filet pattern as stated in the pattern. But I think the pattern might be wrong on the count of stitches. So my question is the written pattern does not match the pattern chart.
Example row 2 and 3
Row 2: Ch 2, tr 27, ch 1, sk 1, tr 31, ch 1, sk 1, tr 28 and turn.
Row 3: Ch 2, tr 25, ch 1, sk 1, tr 3, ch 1, sk 1, tr 27, ch 1, sk 1, tr 3, ch 1, sk 1, tr 26 and turn.
Now the chart blocks white ones do they represent stitches ? If so when you come to the black block that is the ch 1 sk 1 do you count the next st as the start of the group of stitches? I have frogged out the first 6 rows at least20 times. I am not a beginner crocheter. I consider myself advanced but this written to chart is confusing. Hope that is clear what I am asking.
Question on blocking. I am making my first garment. The fiber is cotton/bamboo and is machine washable. The pattern says to block but I have also been told that blocking isn’t as important when fibers are machine washable. So…. Block or not?
Tiffany do you have a granny square bucket hat pattern. I have seen some but can't remember where I found it. I hope you have a great one. Please let me know.

Crochet Therapy: How Crafting Relieves Stress and Boosts Creativity
🤗🧶Hey there, fellow yarn enthusiasts!
Today, let's dive into something close to my heart—crochet therapy. You know, it's not just about making cute scarves or cozy blankets; it's about finding peace and tapping into your creativity in a crazy world.✨🧘🏼♀️
Finding Peace in Every Stitch -
You know that feeling when you pick up your hook and yarn after a long day? It's like hitting pause on the chaos. The rhythmic motions and focus on the pattern—total Zen mode. It's my mini meditation session, helping me unwind and chill out.🌱
Creative Expression and Mental Health-
Crochet isn't just about following instructions; it's about making something uniquely yours. Whether you're into funky designs or classic styles, each project lets you express yourself. And let's be real, finishing a piece you've put your heart into? It's a confidence booster like no other. 💖🧶😊
Community and Connection-
One of the best parts of being a crafter? The community. Whether it's chatting on forums or meeting up with my Crochet Club pals, it's like having a support squad who gets why you're obsessed with yarn. They cheer you on, share tips, and sometimes just geek out over new yarn finds together. 👯💭
Getting Started with Crochet Therapy-
If you're curious about crochet therapy, start simple. A scarf, a hat, maybe a cushion cover—it's about enjoying the process and feeling that sense of accomplishment. Don't stress about perfection; just let yourself get lost in the stitches and see where it takes you.🧣🧶🧣

I've been looking for awhile for a Cardigan pattern that I liked, and could do. Finally found one on MJ's Off the Hook channel. This will be perfect for cool mornings when we're camping.
Here is the link to the crochet top I was wearing in the Crafter's Gathering Meeting last night!

It is a paid pattern so I can't openly make a tutorial for it BUT if people purchased the pattern we could do a CAL together. Something we can chat about more if there is enough interest. 🤗💖🧶
